The
role of the Little Rock 9 in the history of desegregation is a story
that has been told many times from many different points of view.At the
center of the Little Rock Central High School crisis of 1957, they
played a significant part in ending school segregation in the United
States.
Rather than adding another story, we will try to provide you with the best sources of information about the Little Rock Nine.
If
a picture is worth 1,000 words, then this 2 part video series about the
Little Rock nine and the crisis at Little Rock Central High School is
worth about a million.
Central
High School is now listed as a National Historic Site. The only
operating high school in the country with this designation. There is
also a Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor
Center located at the intersection across from the school.
There is a museum and bookstore at the site for even more information. This is definitely a great chance to see living history.
